for the Secure Lock Camera Android application
and its optional Secure Lock Camera Remote Shutter Wear OS companion

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Secure Lock Camera app ("the app", "we", "us") accesses, how it is used, and how it is (or is not) shared. Please read it carefully.

1. Who we are

Secure Lock Camera is developed and published by SecureUtilityDev (the same developer name shown on the app's Google Play listing). If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can contact us at:

2. Information the app accesses and processes

The app is designed to work without an account and without collecting personal information about you. The categories below describe everything the app touches.

Camera

The app uses your device's camera to display a live preview and to capture photos and videos. This is the app's core function. Camera frames are processed on your device to show the preview and to create the photo or video you capture.

Video is recorded without sound. The app does not request the microphone permission, so it is not technically capable of recording audio. You can confirm this in your device's app permission settings, where no microphone permission is listed.

Photos and videos you capture

When you take a photo, the app adds a text overlay and, if you have set one, your watermark logo (see below), optionally combines two photos into one image side by side or stacked, and saves the finished picture to your device's photo gallery (the DCIM/Camera folder).

When you record a video, the same overlay is drawn into the footage as it is recorded, and the finished clip is saved to the same folder as an MP4 file. Video contains no sound.

These photos and videos are stored locally on your device. The app does not upload them, back them up to us, or transmit them to any third party.

Information you enter

In the app's settings you can type text that is drawn onto your photos as an overlay — for example a label and a "code" or "seal" value, together with the current date and time. You can also choose settings such as the text colour, the self-timer delay, how paired photos are joined, the shape of your photos, the video quality, and whether captures are locked to portrait or landscape. This text is:

• used only to render the overlay on the photos you choose to take;
• retained by Android only for as long as needed to keep your settings across screen rotations and while the app is in the background — the app keeps no database or long-term store of it, and it is cleared when the app is force-stopped or uninstalled;
• written into the image and video files you save (so it becomes part of those photos and recordings);
• never transmitted to us or to any third party.

Please note that whatever you type will be permanently visible in the photos and videos you save, and you are responsible for how you store and share them.

Optional: watermark logo you import

You can choose an image from your device to be stamped onto your photos as a watermark. If you use this feature:

• the image is selected using Android's own system photo picker. The app therefore never receives access to your photo library as a whole — only to the single image you pick, and only because you picked it. The app does not request any photo or media permission;
• a downscaled copy of that image is saved inside the app's private storage area on your device, so the watermark still works the next time you open the app. No other app can read it;
• the copy is excluded from Android's cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so it is not uploaded to your Google account. If you move to a new device you will need to import the logo again;
• the copy is deleted as soon as you tap Remove in settings, or when you uninstall the app;
• it is drawn into the photos and videos you save, and is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any image you import.

Optional: Wear OS smartwatch companion

If you pair the app with a compatible Wear OS smartwatch running our companion app, the app can:

• receive remote "take photo", "start preview", "stop preview" and "switch between photo and video" commands from your watch;
• send a low-resolution live camera preview to your watch so you can frame the shot; and
• send the camera's current status and capture mode to your watch — for example whether it is idle, taking a photo, recording, or waiting for the second photo of a pair — so the watch can show you what the phone is doing.

The preview is sent only while the preview feature is running; the status is sent while the camera screen is open. This exchange happens only between your phone and your own paired watch. It is handled by Google Play Services' Wearable Data Layer. Depending on how your devices are connected, Google Play Services may relay this data between your devices; that processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We never receive this data.

The phone app is fully usable on its own. If you do not own a Wear OS watch, or do not install the companion app, none of the above takes place and no data is exchanged.

Links to other apps

The settings screen contains links to rate the app, send feedback, and read this policy. If you tap one, Android opens the relevant app — the Play Store, your email app, or your browser — and what happens next is governed by that app's own terms. Nothing about you is attached: the feedback email is addressed and given a subject line containing the app version, and you write and send it yourself. The app itself still has no internet access.

Connectivity state

The Google Play Services component used for the watch feature checks your device's network connectivity status (via the ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permission). This is used only to enable communication with your watch. The app itself does not request internet access and does not send your information over the internet.

3. How information is used

Information the app accesses is used solely to provide the app's features:

• to show the camera preview and capture photos and silent video;
• to draw the date, time, your chosen text and your optional logo onto those photos and recordings;
• to save the finished photos and videos to your device's gallery; and
• if you enable it, to communicate with your paired Wear OS watch.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the features described above.

4. Data sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your photos, your videos, the information you enter, or the logo you import. Because the app has no servers and does not transmit your data to us, there is nothing for us to disclose or hand over.

The only third-party service involved is Google Play Services, which provides the Wear OS connectivity used by the optional smartwatch feature. Your use of Google Play Services is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Permissions the app requests

The app requests only the permissions it needs to function:

The app does not request internet, location, contacts, microphone, storage, or photo and media library permissions. Because there is no microphone permission, video is silent. Saving photos and videos to your gallery, and importing a watermark logo, are all done through Android facilities that need no permission at all.

6. Data storage, retention, and deletion

• Photos and videos are saved to your device's gallery and stay entirely under your control. You can view, move, or delete them at any time using your device's Gallery or Files app.
• Text and appearance settings are not stored permanently by the app. They are retained only so your settings survive rotating the screen or backgrounding the app, and are written into the photos you save.
• An imported watermark logo is one of only two things the app stores persistently. It is kept as a single file in the app's private storage, is excluded from cloud backup and device transfer, and is deleted when you remove it in settings or uninstall the app.
• Because we operate no servers, we hold no copy of your data and have nothing to retain or delete on our end.
• A single setting recording whether the introduction has been shown is the other. It is a yes/no flag so the walkthrough does not reappear on every launch. It holds no information about you and is removed when you uninstall the app.
• Uninstalling the app removes the app, its settings and any imported logo from your device. Photos and videos you already saved to your gallery are not removed by uninstalling — you can delete those yourself.

7. Data security

Your photos, videos, settings and any imported logo remain on your own device, protected by your device's own security (such as your screen lock and Android's app sandboxing). The imported logo is held in the app's private storage area, which other apps cannot read. Because the app does not transmit your data to us or store it externally, there is no server-side copy that could be exposed. You are responsible for securing your device and for how you store and share the photos and videos you create.

8. Children's privacy

This app is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

9. Your choices and rights

Because your data stays on your device, you remain in direct control of it at all times. You can:

• grant or revoke the camera permission at any time in your device's system settings;
• clear or change the overlay text within the app;
• remove an imported watermark logo at any time from the app's settings;
• delete any photos or videos you have saved using your device's Gallery or Files app; and
• uninstall the app to remove it from your device.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Since we do not collect or hold your personal data, most such requests can be satisfied directly on your device; if you have questions, contact us using the details above.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if the app's features change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be noted in the app's Google Play listing. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
